Hey! You ought to embrace the challenge!

I'm considering testdriving the white 4 cylinder/5 speed Sport model at the local dealer...for the hell of it!
Not sure what else this engine is put in..(neon maybe).but I bet new exhaust, and a new chip may do wonders.

Hey Scotty
A simple gain of 9 horses, proven on a dyno, was done by putting the K&N taperd style air filter directly onto the throttle body. That means get rid of the resinator box and "S" shaped plastic hose. You need to use the rubber neck thats in between the throttle body and the resignator box to fill in the space for the inlet of the airfilter. Because the airfilter mouth is to big to fit on the throttle body. I went from 88.3 horses and 117.9 torque to 98.1 horses and 126.4 torque all proven on UTI School DynoJET roller system

ive asked this question before because i have the same problem . only 4 cyl. anyways all the feedback ive gotten is cold air intake , high flow muffler and cat, the jeep 4.0 throttle body is a direct bolt on , bigger plugs and wires plus a better cap and rotor , and under drive pulley. mopar also makes cams and roller rockers for this engine. it is the same motor as in the jeeps. www.avengersuperchargers.com and www.rimmersuperchargers.com both sell super chargers for this motor as well

A truck with a 4 banger! Why does Dodge or anyone else evn bother. Haul groceries home, or deliver pizza's....don't consider them "work horses" or performance machines. I'm sure there's a place in society for these fuel efficient autos, but I havn't figured out really where.

It's been awhile since I visited here, but just wanted to say that I too have a little 4 banger and have come to get used to it after, per a great suggestion I got here, I installed a K&N cone filter. I did notice a little increase in power and a throatier sound now, especially when accelerating(at least it sounds like it's doing something... ha ha!). Some day, when I can I'll upgrade to a V-8, but for now with gas prices the way they are, I can live with.

There is a lot you can do on that 91. That's the old Chrysler 2.5 that was in the Charger, Omni,Daytona, etc.
