I have a 95 Dodge Dakota that cuts off when I'm
driving or make a left turn or hit a bump. I turned the ign switch on and off and got some codes, the first was (11) which the Haynes book said is "no distributor signal", the second is a
(42) which is "automatic shutdown relay driver circuit". This has been a thorn in my side, I have
spent a lot trying to find the problem. My fuel guage does not work and I noticed on this forum the code gave several indications. Does anyone know a specific fix for this problem or has experienced it.

I have a 92 3.9 V6, I have had a similar problem and been talking to a lot of people, several people with this problem have changeed the distributer pickup and that solved the problem... I am at a full tune up done, new distributer and pick up, new crank positioning sensor and about to replace the MAP sensor and coil tonight... my fuel pressure and vacuum pressure are normal and IAC and TPS... Not throwing any codes, no check engine light... I swear, $600 bucks in, and I'm ready to have a heart attack...

Good Luck to y'all
Eva

usually the codes you are getting indicates that the hydraulic pump is failing. it will require work by someone that really knows their way around inside your tranny.

this might be a duplicate, sorry. I gave up reading the individual posts, too busy.

http://www.troublecodes.net/

do a search for ODBII, there are several internet sites that list them. As someone else pointed out, they are an industry standard.
