Subject: Space behind QC rear seats
IP: Logged

Message:
Does anyone know how much space there is behind the seats of a QC truck? What the dimensions of the space is for a seat to still be able to fold up?

I've seen lots of posts of people who have fit amps back there, but I'm having a hell of a time figuring out how short an amp needs to be to fit back there, as well as what the maximum dimensions are.

The amp I'm trying to fit in the truck is 24.75"x10.725"x3", so its quite a bit bigger than most amps. Under the passenger seat is out of the question, its far too big. Under the rear seats is out of the question, as there isn't enough clearance with them down.

Behind the rear seats or perhaps as a more extreme option, sunk into the rear seat bottom a bit so there is clearance under the seat are the only choices I can come up with.

where do you have your subs situated? you should have enough room behind the seats, they make custom sub enclosures that go behind the seat in the back

No subs in there yet. I took the seats out yesterday. I have three amps to choose from, a 4ch a 2ch and a 1ch. I wanted to use the 4ch behind the seat, thats the big one I mentioned in my first post. No chance in the slightest of it fitting. At a minimum the vents are in the way.

It looks like the 2 channel amp will fit next to the vent on the passenger side well enough, and the 1 channel sort of fits under the passenger seat.

The sub will go behind the drivers side rear seat eventually, but for now it may just sit in the back in a truck wedge as I've got one from an old car and don't want to drop $300 for a new enclosure right now.
