Subject: Removing Door Panel...
IP: Logged

Message:
I just bought a 99 Dak, standard cab. I was wondering how to get the door panels off so I can replace the kicker at the bottom of the door panel.

Need to know ASAP, thanks everyone!

There are a few screws to remove. One in the door handle, one in the arm rest, Two at the bottom of the door.
grab the arm rest and lift up, when the catches release you will be able to look down from the top and release the handle and lock mechanism. if power locks and windows remove the dongles for power. It is very simple and straight forward.
Roll the window down before you remove the door pannel, may be different instructions for non power windows... I have power. Takes me about 2 minutes per side to remove the door pannels.
good luck.

Ok, cool. I figured it out eventually. Got my 6 1/2's replaced, nothing special, Pioneer, but better than a blown out infinity.

I use a tool I got from an auto parts store called something like a window crank clip remover. Basically just a flat piece of metal in a 2 prong fork shape. Slide this tool behind the window crank and there is a little copper clip that holds the crank on.

I would recommend buying a pack of window crank clips when you buy the window crank remover tool. (They are Cheap and you probably will bend them.)

Next there is a screw behind the pull handle on the door.

There is 1 screw right by the arm rest.

There is another screw by where the power mirror control would be if you have power mirrors.

And there are 2 screws along the bottom edge of the door.

Remove all the screws and the window crank, then just grab the door panel by the arm rest handle and pull up towards the sky.

It should pull right up and off.
